Archers' Hood

Like many things, I'm sure my fascination with this style of clothing began with the books I loved throughout my childhood. For the patterns I write that I really love, it will often take years of holding an idea in the back of my mind, occasionally taking a step or two closer to something tangible, until one day the method will often hit me out of nowhere. This design is one I am particularly proud of making. I bought a stunning jumper from a charity shop and unravelled the wool (a process I highly encourage if you have the privilege of time) and just started with a rectangle. After making a fair few, the pattern is standardised with a gorgeous alpaca / wool blend and not entirely identical to the first one, partly due to me rarely writing notes on the first draft of something, but they remain one of the best designs I've ever come up with.
